Hi
I Know there was some discussion on this awhile back. Cant find the thread in question.
Has anybody found out what has happened to this site, and if its coming back?
-
I contacted the owners of the domain to see if they could shed any light on it, but got no response :-(
Its been down for ages. Who knows if it will ever be back!

Thank goodness I downloaded all the Fred Fish, 17bit, Toga, PDSoft, etc disks before it went down!
We may never see this stuff online again.

Have a look here ;-)
ftp://ftp.back2roots.org/pub/

In an other forum I have heard that the guys behind back2roots got feed up (probably due to lack of user response, most just took without saying thank you or anything at all) and deleted the mainpages.
The files are said to be still all there, but you have to know the complete URL of every singe file to get to it (no FTP directory tree) so it is all useless after all.
-
having only recently joined AOForum i dont know what this back2roots was. what exactly was it?
i do recall it though... ?
324 ;)

Well if the people that ran/run the site read this I want them to know that as a returning Amiga user I would like very much for them to bring the site back and rest assured I would help support them and be appreciative of the work they do.

Try this: http://eager.back2roots.org/
enjoy
-
so you can get ADFs from this site?
-
It tells you where you can get some (not all) adf files. Not as good as back to roots but at least it is somewhat of a resource.

Try this one
Ancient Toys Amiga Abandonware (http://amigos.amiga.hu/ancientoys/archive.html)
Or This
Planet Emulation (http://www.planetemu.net/index.php?section=roms&dat=257)
Or This
Amiga Power (http://www.amigapower.tk/)
I hope they help.

Thanks...this url works fine. Complete with folders and file menus.
Who needs pretty pages if all you want are the files. Heck, we used GEnie and Compu$erve in the 80s and paid big bucks to do so. No pretty graphics included!
Time to stop sounding like my grandpa! :smack:
