i am afraid i put some 3000 rom chips in wrong??
did i screw up big time? would i have damaged the motherboard or the chips or both?
please say i did not?
thanks much :-?

there is a posibility that you did only damage the romms but i know that it is possible to get unlucky in the world of amiga. the best of luck either way.
try inserting the old ones to confirm if it went bad

Yes you most definitely burned the roms.
check the expansion port of your mobo if you have any accelerator board. I once burned my expansion port, but I'm not sure if it was because of the faulty kick rom installation.

If you put them in backwards, ie did not line up the notches yes you killed the ROMs and maybe more. If you simply swapped em in wrong then you are A ok, just swap.
