Some of you may confess to having tried an XTC pill once. Or even twice. (Perhaps even more :-P.) Nevertheless, I doubt you will have used so much as this guy (http://www.newscientist.com/blog/shortsharpscience/2006/04/40000-ecstasy-pills-later.html), who used 40.000 (forty thousand!!) of them in nine years, peaking at 25 per day for four years straight. What it did to his brain is terrifying.
Perhaps you should reconsider swallowing the pills you'd been saving up for that special friday night next week...

I took about 20 pills a night 3 or 4 times a week for nearly a decade. Combined with coke, speed, weed and booze usually.

A conservative guesstimation is 32100 in a decade if we use 3 times a week, and at 4 times a week it's 41600.
Do I win?

This was an exceptional case. His long-term memory was fine but he could not remember day to day things – the time, the day, what was in his supermarket trolley..
That is very familar to me. :-/

And you still feel, well, normal?

Quite partial to the occassional swedger myself but nothing like that amount.

Unfortunately my Seratonin/Dopamine levels are totally sh*gged anyway, despite having never tried anything harder than weed in my life.
The abuse the human brain can take and still function is nothin short of amazing to me, especially as I have to be so very careful about my own brain chemistry.

I've been very lucky - so far (touching wood) - in that regard.
Remarkably happy-go-lucky type attitude rarely leaves me.
I guess that mean's the nervous breakdown's in the post. ;-)
-
Well - I'd have to post this then :-)

I remember reading an article some time ago about how many users report that Es lose their 'magic' after they have taken ten (in their lifetime).
My main concern with Es is that you can be unsure of their contents. Furthermore, I used to drink heavily on them - I'm sure that canna be good for you!
But then try telling that to someone having a f'ing amazing night on them, surrounded by beautiful women, great music and a wonderful atmosphere...

Cyberus - your name a reference to Resident Evil (the Umbrella creation code named MA-39)?
-
No its my corruption of Cerberus, the dog of Roman mythology who guards the gates to Hades.
-
For the sake of clarity, my name isn't a corruption of Cerberus, the dog of Roman mythology who guards the gates to Hades.

No, or maybe it is?!

Apart from the short term memory probs and bi-polar disorder, yes.
The bloke in that study was a soft southern shite. We are much harder up north. ;-)

Hum,
indeed.
he sounds like a part-time raver...
