Remember - at the time Commodore died in 1994, LCD screens were small, low quality and expensive. "Portables" were bulky and heavy. It would have been stupid for Commodore to attempt to release an Amiga laptop at that time. Besides, they would have had to start development in 1992 (when LCDs were even more expensive) to have released it before their demise in 1994.

I've seen a few attempts by users to make one around 1997. I think they took a hacked up A1200 motherboard (or was it A600?) and crammed it into a Compaq notebook. It wasn't a pretty sight.

Prediction: It's not gonna happen!

There never was one - I think - primarialy due to the fact that the Amiga's chipset was TTL. Too much heat, too much power usage, etc.

Plus, what was the smallest AGA Amiga mother board you've seen? Such a 'laptop' would probably be too big.

Also, have you ever seen an Amiga drive an LCD screen?

Well, I'd really like to beat the hell out of a dancing bananna, but nobody's made an emoticon yet. :-)

Really ?

/me runs from Cecilia...like the old proverb says "Hell hath no fury like a woman without a banana"

But getting back on topic.
At the end of the day, it'd just cost too much to develop for the current demand. Even the MicroA1 is too big for a laptop..unless you want one about 3-4" thick.
Maybe something based on Genesi's Efika would be possible, but then there's the damn license issue all over again :madashell:
