Title: Difference with a Blizzard 1230
Post by: kiniki on March 30, 2006, 02:22:56 PM
Hi guys.

A lot of you have been recommending that I get one of these for my 1200. What I would like to know is what difference and I going to see from the machine?

Say I run Wing Commander with and without, how much of a performance increase am I likely to notice?

Does it just speed up the graphics loading, or does it affect performance in any other ways?

Its got 16mb onboard by the way

If you are running it from floppies, then it probably won't load significantly faster as the floppy drive will still be slow. But if you install it to a hard disk and run it from there, then it will definitely load faster compared to the A1200's 020.

Have fun :-) You might want to consider something faster than an 030. While the 030 will be a lot faster than the 020, an 060 if you can afford it would absolutely fly!
