Title: AmigaOS 4 and low cost Xilinx PPC 405 Eval. Board
Post by: asian1 on March 30, 2006, 05:25:06 AM
Amiga Inc had announced that AmigaOS 4 was ported to PowerPC 405 PDA. Unfortunately there is no mass producer of PowerPC 405 PDA.

There is a low cost Xilinx Virtex-II Pro LC evaluation board with PowerPC 405 core (US$ 300).
If someone can create a VGA + storage controller + sound chip + PCI for US$ 100, is it possible to sell this complete PowerPC 405 for US$ 400?

Is it possible to use AmigaOS 4 with the board?

Even if it was possible, where would you get the OS from?

AFAIR that PDA was an IBM evaluation board anyway.
I remember looking for it on IBMs website.
