Asking $2100 US or best offer.
Just a small tip. Even if you parted everything out, realistically you'd get around $1000 - $1200 USD. As a bundle sale, expect to receive offers under $1000 USD.
-
damn thats a sweet setup.
'nother word of advice. don't sell up. sooner or later you'll only start building it all back up again... ;-)
-
Shame you are selling! Is this your only Amiga?

I agree even on ebay you will never get more then about $1000 for the system.
Its a shame your selling, You may regret it sometime down the road.
-
No, it's not my only Amiga but it's the one I've spent the most money, time, and effort on. I've overextended myself in the past few months, not just on Amiga stuff though, and the wife says something has to go. I'm keeping my A1000, A500, and A1200 as they are mostly stock.
As to the actual worth I'm not real sure. I'm basing my price on what I have invested. I know some of the parts you just can't find for sale. The hard drive is the one I just bought from AmigaKit.com, the best Amiga vendor. :)Trust me, I DON'T want to sell it! This one was my pride and joy!
-
If I were you I would sell the other three Amigas and keep the A4000.
Hope things work out for you.
-
Well, if any members here on Amiga.org are interested in individual parts let me know and we'll see what we can work out.
I've not listed on Ebay yet but probably will by this weekend.

the price for such a machine is around 650 euros no more..
Sorry.
-
Well, we'll just have to see what happens. :)
-
If you put it on ebay, please be sure to give us a link.
-
If I were you I would try to debate the issue again with your wife. I'm sure there can be an alternative ??? I'm having the same discussions sometimes and I got the answer for you (depending on your habbits though)
Tell her you'll buy a huge closet to put all messy looking things in she'll hopefully accept your mess being put out of sight. :) (Debate here is always mess against usefulness)
-
never never never sell a a4000 that is that beefed up, you will regret it BIG time!! i tell you this machine will be able to run aos4.0, when it get available for the classic amiga..
for godsake sell that A1000 and A500 you dont need does, dust collectors...
keep the a4000 and the a1200(this replace you a1000 and a500 easy)...

Back in 1994, I did just that! :-D
-
I know you have that much money in her, but these guys are right...I'd say $1200 usd tops, and eternity kicking yourself in the arse. I hope you do well whatever you decide. I might be interested in the floppy and maybe the gfx card too =)

Things can be replaced, a loving spouse cannot. Believe me drew, it will be far easier to find good hardware later when you want it then it will be to find a decent woman you can trust. Arguably, she is looking out for both of your best interests. It is admirable you are working with her. Best of luck in the sale!

My advice is that you've got to find a good friend to stock it in his house during a long time, and the things will be better ... ->

Yeah, that was my thought exactly. In fact, I'm a really good friend: that's what my friends tell me. You can store it in my house. You'll even have postage receipts to australia to prove you sold the machine.
But seriously, I think you might be better off selling all your other miggies instead. The otehrs will be easier to replace, and there is probably some redundancy there anyway, right? You could possibly make a similar amount of money as well (I don't know the US market though). Plus, much less hobby clutter. Is this an issue? It's always an issue, right?
-
Well I guess I should update on this. After intense negotiations with my wife I'm keeping my A4000D. :-D
They weren't that intense. :-P
However, I am going to be clearing out some of my other Amiga stuff this weekend. Taking inventory, taking pictures, testing out, and then posting on Ebay.
I know I'm going to be selling my PAL A1200, one of my A2000's, possibly one of my A500's, and some other hardware bits.
-
Hey drew.
That sounds better. I'd love to get my hands on a 4000D especially one thats not towered. Sell all your obsolete migs and just keep the 4000D and a backup system. Thats my advice, less clutter and you keep you wife happy!
all the best
