Title: Amiga Repair?
Post by: AppleIIGuy on March 20, 2006, 02:18:40 PM
I have an Apollo 1240 but it seems pin 52 is broken off. I was wondering if anybody knows where I could get a new Female trapdoor socket for it or a place where I could send it off to get it fixed?

Buying one from Ebay would certainly be cheaper than having it fixed. At least here in Europe, Apollo's are frequently sold on Ebay and don't cost a fortune.
Maybe there is a way of fixing/substituting that single pin with something else instead of changing the whole connector!?

why don't you check pinout to see if its used, it could be one of GND, so it might work without it..

acording to http://www.titan.co.nz/amigaak/AA060151.htm
pin 52 is Data 22 which I believe is needed..

The only way I can see to fix it is to run a wirefrom pin 52 on the card to pin 52 on the slot. I just wont be able to remove it to easily

Now if I could find an convient spot to solder the wire to pin 52 on the a1200...
