Hmmm, well I think I am correct in saying that if you can perform a reset using CTRL-A-A then the CPU is running. Can you disconnect all your drives and any other peripherals not required and then see if you get the kickstart screen?

Another question: which video connector is in use? and if the VGA is, then is it enabled or disabled...

On my desktop A3000 I have noticed that sometimes SCSI termination problems result in the Amiga turning on, but only giving a black screen (i.e. acting dead).  Try plugging / unplugging devices from the external SCSI port on the back (not while the machine is on).  Try using an ACTIVE DB-25 SCSI terminator on that external port.  Try terminating your internal SCSI devices, or remove all SCSI devices entirely.  Lastly, disable the onboard SCSI and see if you can get it to turn on (is there a jumper to do this?).

Please post your results to let us know how it works out for you.

I tried disabled scsi, checked vga, replaced PAULA< DENISE< CIA A and B, remowed 1mb CHIP in ZIPs and no changes. Today I put A3000T to service, may be they repair my Amiga..I will inform You.Regards

Here we can read that black screen means NO CPU, but my 68030 is on motherboard..

Was there by any chance an accelerator card before in the 3k?

Check that the jumper settings are ok for the onboard 030.

I got back my A3000T from service, they didn't fix it (but they didn't want money too - answer was that all seems to be ok(resistors etc.)),I replaced DENISE,PAULA, CIA A and B, GARY and nothing changed:(I don't know whether there were any other cpu cards but jumpers are ok now. VGA is ok (31,1khz 50hz PAL and 31,1khz 59 NTSC),so the output is ok I'm think. Coputer don't react on floppy..hmmmm..some other ideas????:(

HI!
I've the same problem with an A2000 rev 4.5 of my Amiga collection. I'm looking for the solution, but I think that the problems comes for a bad track or soldered point near the processor (pins) or battery (in a2k there are very near). In my a2k the battery lost acid and two tracks were broken. If I found the problem i'll post it.

I had a similar problem with my A3000T.  Even thought I removed the battery (installed a Lithium hack) when I first got it (It didn't leak as far as I could tell at the time) Apparently it did leak some as right under the path of the battery there was some corrosion and green streaks on the traces.  I tested and found a trace was eaten so i repaired it and my A3000T finally worked!  Check to see around your battery for broken traces.  Good luck.

Black screen "booting"? You mean it does start but you get no video output, or it doesn't boot at all?

I had the same thing, everything looked fine after removing the battery, but it wasn't. Power led remained dim. I had to solder 2 tracks on the board to make it work; which it now does!
One of the lines went to the 68882 FPU.

Hello
Forgive me for mentioning what may seem obvious, but did you check the contrast on your monitor?  When I was a kid I used to turn the contrast all the way down on my dad's Apple II monitor as a prank..  :)  Not sure if you have kids?  But its not impossible that the contrast "changed", one way or another, while you had your back turned.  Good luck, Dave
