Title: Yamaha CDRW and MAKECD
Post by: Tafka on April 18, 2003, 11:47:42 PM
I've recently aquired a Yamaha CD-RW (CRW2100S) that I am trying to get to work with MAKECD.

I've connected the CDRW to my Cyberstorm II SCSI board and it seems to read disks okay but MakeCD reports an error "Cmd MODE_SELECT 6=> Illegal Request: Invalid Field Parameter List".  Is this a SCSI problem or is the drive just not supported by MAKECD?

Any Ideas gratefully received.  I only paid 25 quid for it so even if it only works as a reader I wouldn't be too gutted as it is a tiny bit of an improvement over my old 2x speed CDROM  (40x Read).  :-D

That combo works fine for me.

In prefs set . writing drive to SCSI3_Atapi
BTW the newer version's of MakeCD should Identify the proper driver for it as soon as you select it.

Okay, I've written the CD on my PC now but I've changed the settings and next time I need to write a CD I'll try it.

Thanks!!
