Hi!
I'm an I.T. Trainer who has been using computers since 1988 (Amstrad CPC 464). In those days, I dreamed about owning an Amiga, but it was too expensive (at last, to me).
Last summer, I got an A500 with a Commodore 1084S monitor, a Joystick and lots of 3"1/2 DD disks. And the fever started. This awesome machine makes me bought a new A1200 at vesalia with a 80 GB HD.
An now, I have an A1200 with a Blizzard turbo card (68020) plus 32 MB, 10 M Ethernet PCMCIA LAN card, external IDE CDROM, two more HDs...
I've downloaded the whole aminet to my Linux server and burned it to DVDs. I've set up an internal Apache web server to transfer data to the Amiga. I'm trying to set up NFS, SMB, etc...
Someone has to banish these machines ! They are so addictive ! I need to sleep ! :-D

Welcome and I know what you mean! I just came back on the Amiga scene recently and have several Amigas, software, etc...
It's good to be back.

Well, I'm getting back into the Amiga scene myself after 12 years of withdrawals. My current system will be, when I get it:
A1200D 68030/40/66 total RAM
1.2 gig OS3.1/OS3.9, 14 & 60 gig spares (not in use atm)
PCMCIA 10Mbps Ethernet card
when I get a working CD setup I'll install OS3.9
Also have planned in the near future:
Elbox Power Tower w/350W ATX PSU
Mediator 1200LT (or SX)
DVDRW/DVD-ROM
and USB support
Gonna need a lotta advice later on, I think.
Oh and welcome to AO!!! I well remember spending hours on my miggy in college instead of studying. How the hell I kept my scholarship is beyond me.

Hi! I've noticed that lots of people are coming back to Amiga nowadays.
I agree, it's good to have these wonderful machines.

To tonyvdb:
I clearly understand what your problem is: to get a divorce, or to play with your Amiga.
A question that is not so easy to answer :-)
