What do you make of this ?
Item number: 8263072907
-
Hmmm... How many are actually being sold for that price?
And wouldn't the shipping be astronomical?
I guess some "new old stock" CD32s had to be somewhere!

P.S. For those who can't be bothered to find this via eBay, link is here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8263072907&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2F%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D8263072907%26fvi%3D1).

I wonder if someone broke these out of the mythical warehouse in the Philipines?
-
Left over stock from the Philippines manufacturing plant? I gather it was something of a free-for-all when C= died and lots of stock just 'disappeared' or was taken in lieu of debts.
-
What?! Only EUR 105 (US $125) for 8xCD32? :-o Wow, that's what I call the bargain of the year! :-D Hmmm, wait a minute...Ah, I see, the price is only for 1 CD32  ;-)
-
Wonder if they're PAL or NTSC...
Is that a dodgy CDR he's selling?
:-)
-
Hmmmmmmmmmm tempting, very tempting. First thought it said US$1000 for 8, but that basically comes down to 125 a piece...
Unfortunatly they are NTSC/110V if I can decipher properly...
-
no idea if it will work in the uk and with uk games but my god what a lot! Wats with all the ????????????????????? ?
-
The ????s are your web browser's attempt to display Chinese characters, at a guess!

I asked the seller. It is NTSC:
"Hello,this CD32 is NTSC.
My MSN is:ken16888@163.com"

CD32 Goodness (http://cgi.ebay.com/COMMODORE-AMIGA-CD32-NEW_W0QQitemZ8263279313QQcategoryZ63263QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
I couldn't get the above link to work.. but ..
Wow.. I could use another CD32 ;)

Well...I've looked at the item and the picture with the stack of boxes. I'm impressed. Ken looks to have gotten a pile of CD32s. He has a rather good report, from the translations I can see, as a seller.
The kicker is, as always, shipping. I was quoted 1700 RMB to ship...this converts to $213ish to get it to Northern CA from China. $213 + $124 means a new CD32 for $337 delivered. Tempting, but I've spent way too much this month on a NOS A1200. I'm gonna have to pass.....perhaps theres a Chinese factory cranking out counterfits?

If they`re cranking out AGA chips then let them ;o)
-
I was thinking the same thing! I bet it's just NOS though that someone has been sitting on for 10+ years. Still, that's pretty cool:-D
