Title: Why can't I close CLI window after lha in DirOpus?
Post by: fredsamiga on February 19, 2006, 04:14:10 PM
I've got Directory Opus Magellan I and it's patched up to Version 5.661 but no matter what version I can't close the CLI window that pops up after I use the LHA extract option in the user menu on my tool bar. Does anyone know of any fixes?

Do you mean it doesn't close itself, or you can't close it even if you press the close button? If the close button doesn't do anything then there is a process still running in the shell that hasn't exited. If this is the case, then run the LHA extraction, leave the shell window open, then open another one and type "status". This will tell you if any programmes are running that you can't see.

ctrl-c in shell window might help too, if lha hasn't returned for some reason...

I don't remember what options are available on that old version of dopus, but you could also check the settings/usermenus if there's "window close button" selected... if not, then it should close automatically.

If the CLI has quit but left a window open you can close it by sending it an end-of-file character:  Ctrl \

Note: that is not a slash, that is a backslash.
