I've just installed Jabberwocky on Amithlon with the intention of using it with my existing MSN Messenger account.
I've got it all installed and running and have gotten to the point where I have this:
(http://amiga.org/images/subject/icon3.gif) msn.jabber.com
on the list.
What do I do next?
How do I import my MSN contacts?
And yes, I *did* RTFM :rtfm: :-D but I found it somewhat incomplete on that particular subject.

Here's what you do...
The trick is that you don't type the hotmail URL
but the passport URL...
eg.
Instead of: goodvibe%hotmail.com@msn.jabber.com
you type: goodvibe%passport.com@msn.jabber.com
It's not obious in the docs...
So Add new contact by by typing inn the jabberID as mentioned above, give name and thats it!
Be sure you're registered on msn.jabber.com
it should look something like:
msn.jabber.com/registred
in the window...
And the thing about importing contacts I'm affraid you'll have to do it by hand, one at the time... But don't hang me on this :-D
Good luck
write if you have further problems...

Will that also work for non hotmail.com addresses?
Eg. my own passport account is a @mail.dk domain

But will this mess with my existing settings, or doesn't Jabberwocky touch the actual Passport server at all?
I have quite a lot of contacts in my profile that i would like to be able to continue using under Windows.

Does Jabberwocky support ICQ messaging system? I have some contacts whome I communicate with by ICQ, and would like to do so on Pegasos aswell.
I tried Stricq but it looks/feels/works even more worse than a few years back when I last tried it.

Does Jabberwocky support ICQ messaging system?
Yes, as long as the jabber server you're connected to is capable of handling ICQ protocol.
From the docs: Other messenger transports supported: MSN, AIM, Yahoo!, and ofcourse ICQ.

Hey, Blomberg... ja, det er altid at møde danskere på nettet! :-)
@blomberg
Ehm... I think it should work just fine
but You'll still have to add the %passport.com instead of %mail.dk in the ID-thread...
I think all of the hotmail and extern adresses are controled by the passport servers...
But it's pure guessing... :-?
And Jabber shouldn't mess with your passport account at all, it has its own account system which is why I guess that you'll have to enter all of your adresses by hand...
Note: You'll have a new contact added correctly if a light-bulp is on the left of the name...
My Jabber sometimes just write the name with black italic letters... It's a sign that it doesn't work :-8
---Håber det hjælper!---

Ja, det er sgu altid dejligt at vide at der stadig er Amiga tilhængere tilbage i Danmark ;-)

Hmm...
This is wierd...
I've just added a friend who uses MSN...
And Jabber wouldn't reconize the %passport.com string, so I tried with %hotmail.com instead...
It worked fine then... Strange :-?...

Are there any technicians on this boat? :-P

Hmm... Seems I've missguided you a bit blomberg
:-(
sorry...
You've got to try the:
"If-this-doesn't-work-,-I-must-try-the-next" -method :-D
Regarding the ICQ question:
Jabber handles the ICQ protocol quite better than strICQ does, [In my opinion]
I'll try to figure this problem out...
Ciao!
