I just got my A1000 that I won off a recent Ebay auction and I'm very impressed! It's beautiful!
Here is the link to the auction.

It works great. I'm going to post some pics this weekend. I do have a question though. I want to remove the cover and look at the signatures. How do I safely do that?
Now if my A4000 would just arrive from boogiegail.
Thanks in advance!!!

I picked up one from my boss for $75.00 dollars american. I wish I had a hard drive and a CD ROM for her.
Best wishes.

I'm sure your A4000 will show up - Boogie is quite reliable for the $$ paid.
I used to have two nice A1000s that I donated to a friend
doing MIDI stuff. I wonder what ever happened to them . . .

Seems like an awful lot for an a1000. I got one off ebay last year for significantly less. Interesting that this one comes from the same city i live in.
-
Nice job! That is a beautiful 1000:-D. Boogiegail is SLOW, however whomever it is always comes through from my experence. I have purchased a few things from them.
Enjoy the new member of the family!

Boogiegail is extremely..extremely slow and I would really not recommend purchasing items – be careful to compare description with product in pictures. I purchased a monitor that was DOA on arrival and I finally had to get paypal involved to get a refund.
Your 1000 on the other hand looks like a great machine - enjoy and goodl luck with the A4000, its a great system.

You are right, koaftder, it was a bit much but as I stated earlier this purchase was purely emotional. It looked like, and turned out to be, such a beautiful example of an A1000. I hope the pictures I post this weekend do it justice. I didn't even know the A1000 had a different mouse than the other Amigas. So far everything works flawlessly. I think I'm going to get an external floppy for it though. I've got it running beside me and I'm playing Drakkhen, one of my favorite RPG type games on the Amiga.
Again, does anyone know how to safely remove the case so I can see the signatures?
Oh, I did have an e-mail when the family and I got home from dinner that boogiegail shipped the A4000 today via UPS ground. Since it's coming from TN and I'm just in AL I hope it gets here before the weekend.

I was also surprised about the mouse when I got my A1000 (got mine for free). An external floppy will definitely come in handy (got an external floppy for free too! ha!).
Unfortunately, you won't be able to put the kickstart in one drive and WB in the other. Only the experimental kickstart 1.4 could boot WB from external - and 1.4 is a little too buggy to be useful.
About removing the case - after removing the case screws, there are snaps on the inside of both sides of the case. You just have to make sure you push in - I think on the bottom part (going from memory here) and carefully pull out and up on the top part to clear the snap. Then do the same on the other side. It's a bit of a bugger, but go slow and careful so you don't break it.

Thanks so much, mr_a500!!!
-
you paid too much for that muffler.
-
Thanks for the feedback there muffler-man!!!
I'm sure we've all paid too much, in someone else's opinion, for something we enjoy, collect, or really want.
I know car customization can be very costly. :)

Well done Mate!
As I said earlier I would have bid a simular figure, but The shipping the the U.K. sould have doubled the cost... :boohoo:
Anyhow I've managed to get my very own PAL A1000 (very little sunlight damage...just dusty I might add) from ebay.de (german ebay)
It even has its BOX!!!
Posting photos ASAP , Just look in A1000 section

A big congrats to you Mike! I'll get my pics up this weekend.
Boogiegail came through as I received my A4000 today and it was just as described. Very nice looking and with everything as promised.
Now I've got to get myself a better monitor besides my 1084S.
-
@Drew
Perhaps a Toastscan or Picasso IV:-D
Congrats!
-
Thanks!
How long does Amiga.org take to upload the photos for public Viewing???
I've uploaded 2 today...but only see the first one?
Better get another :pint: as it's 02:00am here!

Yep....I'm glued to ebay again looking for a 1080!

@Jeff
Well I purchased a Toastscan from Softhut at the time I bought the A4000 from Boogiegail. It got to my house first. hehe
Anyway, I hooked it up to my A4000 and then connected my Viewsonic 17GS but was unable to get a clear signal for more than 5-6 seconds. It just kept scrolling and blanking. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong and I was going to e-mail Softhut to ask them about it. There was no documentation with it.
Thanks,
Drew

Oh man, you got a Toastscan? I guess you didn't see the thread where I (and a few others) explained that the Toastscan is a piece of crap. It was my worst Amiga purchase ever. I tried everything to get a good picture with that thing, but all I got was flickering, unstable, chunky images with poor colour. I happily went back to my 1084 after that. (Softhut doesn't do refunds either - exchange only!)

The ToasterScan is not bad, it not the best but better then not having it - you need to use the adjustment screw to tune it - it should make a better picture. I have one, don't use it any more now that I have a PicassoIV, and it sometime take a few minutes for it clear up. But you should get a pretty good picture out of it. Is the green light one it a constant green?
