i'm building a pc to sit in my living room, and i basically want it to run & boot pretty darn quickly...
i'm just wondering whether it's worth bunging the OS on a couple of usb memory storage dongle things...

until now i have see in all the versions of windows this thing: before i install software like office, corel draw and norton antivirus the pc boots fast enough, so for me it's a matter of your needs and choise of software that case and not of the medium.

yeh...i guess i could just not install anything...keep the codecs, player and what not all seperate from windows

it's not only a matter of put the progs to another disk, the root of the windows problem is the registry which keep a notice for all files, actions and much more. windows reading all these megabytes of text files that is the registry at the boot time. i saw once only office 2k3 create more than 25000 ''writes'' in the install proccess...
