@gevebe
Don't know if You o anybody else knows this............but the FMV card is NOT required to Play Karaoke CD+G disks.................both the CDTV and the CD32 play these out of the box. So perhaps your ad may be misleading?
Now on this though........there are things called Video Karaoke........which are essentially VideoCD Music Videos with the Lyrics and the sound seperated on each channel.but they are just VCD's really......and the FMV card is required for those..............but NOT for CD+G Karaoke CD's
its even possible for an A600 and A500 to play CD+G's if you use the CDTV ROM and have a CDROM drive if someone were to write software to boot off the ROM..................there is CDTVTools which sort of does this...but it is not complete.
Some Coder out there please!!!!!! write something for this!
CD+G on A1000, A600, A500 with the CDTV ROM..and CD+G on A4000, A1200 with the CD32 ROM
Man I wish I could code!

@leirbag, I have tried Karaoke CDs on both my CDTV and CD32 and have not been able to get them to work. Is there something special other than inserting them and starting the CDTV or CD32 up? I'll check to make sure they are not the VideoCD type as you mentioned and are really CD+G type.

@amigadave
All you have to do is press play on the CD32 and it it will go to a black screen first.then start showing pictures and the lyrics.
It is Easy to know if it is a CD+G....simply insert it inot a regular AudioCD player and it should play.but it Should also say CD+G on it.........also under the DISC Compact DIsc logo
What a great pleasure to b able to use these discs I think :-)
Karaoke is growing massivley in NY.
They have Karaoke DJ's here
