Hi,
That appears to be for 4.2 R6 (which is also available from http://v4.cybergraphx.de ), but there's a "pre11" version somewhere that apparently fixes problems with screenmode requesters under OS3.9 BB2... Anyone have this or a link to it?

V4.2 'pre11' is really outdated. Latest release is V4.3beta RC6.

Ah, I guess it helps if I actually look inside the file! Even though it's called "cgxv42_rc6.lha", it is actually version 4.3beta RC6 as you've mentioned.
Will try and run this now!

cgx42_... means the version of the library. cgx v3.xx is 41.xx, cgx v4.xx is 42.xx

Fair enough, thanks for the info!
I've just tried to run the updater and I get the following:
spatch has returned an error. Please read the error message in the 'spatch' window.
spatch does not return the type of error back to the installer so you must read its error.
The installer will let you continue but the CGX V4 install my not be complete, your base files may be bad.
I don't actually have an spatch window on-screen at this point though (spatch itself is in my C: assign though).
Any ideas?
I'm running a slightly odd setup - my A3000 has no CD drive, so I installed both OS3.9 and the CybergraphX software by copying the files from the original CDs via a PC to the Amiga's hard drive, then using assigns of the same name.
I've also had to comment out the line in the install script that explicitly asks for the CybergraphX CD.

I am not sure but maybe it really works only with the cd in a drive as some kind of copyprotection.
-
Yep. CD must be inserted during any CGXV4 update that you install, as a method of copy protection.
-
Ah, that could be a problem then!
Looks like I'm going to have to pick the installer script apart...

It appears that the patch command used by the installer script doesn't actually do anything. This is not the same things as spatch either...
After searching for a bit longer, I came across this thread (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=20192) - so it seems the patch command doesn't work without the CD being inserted into a real CD drive.
As stated above, my A3K doesn't have a real CD drive... So I guess I'm a bit stuffed? Unless some kind soul can send me patched versions of cgxsystem.library (the 040/060 version) and CVision64 - as these appear to be the most important files for my card (Cybervision64, non-3D version)...

Problem solved, for now!
I connected a SCSI CD-ROM drive to my A3K and it read well enough to complete the patch process. I don't usually have this connected as my A3K's SCSI is so unreliable when it comes to CD devices...
