Title: OS 3.5 boing-bag 2a
Post by: tonyvdb on February 09, 2006, 05:54:06 PM
Ok, after much searching I have been unable to find the release of the Amiga OS 3.5 boing-bag 2a. Has anyone seen a link that works where I can download it. I tried at least 8 and all of them came up as broken or unavailable.
What did the release 2.a fix that was not in release 2?

The link you provided has only Boing bag 1 and 2 not 2a

Oh, remember seeing that Boingbag some years ago when I tried OS3.9 for the first time.
So many Amiga websites has died since then
Hope someone has it or knows where to find it.

isn't BB3 only for OS3.9 ?
here's a site for an unofficial BB3 (http://www.monkeyhouse.eclipse.co.uk/amiga/boingbag/)

The BoingBag 2 on http://os.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=18 is the latest also known as v 2a

Looking at Greg Donner's OS3.5 page there's this question..
Quote
I've just installed OS 3.5. Can I install just Boing Bag 2a, or do I need to install both Boing Bag 1 & 2a in numerical order to update my OS 3.5 installation?

No mention of BB2, so maybe BB2a=BB2?

Even on Haage and Partners AmigaOS download page (http://www.haage-partner.de/download/AmigaOS/) there is only BB1 and BB2 for 3.5

I might have downloaded it from Amiga.com ages ago, I'll have a root about and see if I can find it.

Edit:

 Woohoo..by the power of archive.org..
Amiga.com OS3.5 page (http://web.archive.org/web/20030212162329/www.amiga.com/3.5/news-e.shtml) with a cached 3.5BB2a  :-D

Didn't BB2a actually replace BB2 due to mistakes with the files or unsability after installing BB2?

I'm sure that something like that happened and that's why it was BB2a and not BB3.
