Title: A4000T & IDE question
Post by: 560SL on February 09, 2006, 07:56:40 AM
Is there a way to make the Amiga stop looking for an IDE device at startup? I'm running all SCSI now, and it would be really nice to get rid of that old steam engine IDE HD.

I tried to just unplug the power cable, but it seemed like the Amiga was looking for anything IDE at boot time, although it did eventually boot. Is there a way around this problem, or do I just have to have something plugged in there "just because"?

IIRC there are two users here who have attached a 'dumb IDE' connector of sorts onto that header. It can be done, is the answer. If anyone knows it will be PaSha.
