Title: Amiga One memory usage
Post by: Ianoakley on February 08, 2006, 11:49:43 AM
I have 512Mb of system memory and I think my graphics card has 128Mb. I'm baffled as to why my system shows 124698032 graphics mem and 124698032 other mem just with OS4 booted.
I would have thought graphics mem would be a tad under 128 and system mem a tad under 512.
I've looked everywhere to see if this can be changed -

1. can memory allocation be tinkered with

2. is what is being reported correct

Any help or advice welcome !!!

OS4's titlebar defaults are dodgy.  You need to go into WB prefs and set them up yourself.

Choose something like:
gfx mem - video card
public mem - MEMF_PUBLIC block
virtual mem - virtualised memory (ie. everything else)

You will then get the correct figures.

By the way, A1 chip mem is not real. It's some kind of emulation using main ram memory.
