Title: Help needed with UMAX scanner
Post by: melott on February 04, 2006, 05:46:00 PM
I picked up a UMAX ASTRA 1200S SCSI scanner......
I went on Aminet and downloaded a couple files (drivers)
but not really sure what I need here.
If someone has some experience with this and could give
me a heads up on the drivers and software needed and a
general what to expect, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Scanquix 5.4. Power Computing sold it but judging by www.powerc.com they no longer sell Amiga stuff. Might be worth e-mailing them or searching for it.

Keep us posted!

Yes ... possibility, but this is a SCSI scanner and would
need a SCSI card for my PC.

I've downloaded a couple files from Aminet, a driver and
I think the wrong version of Betascan.
I just thought someone here may have used a scanner on
their Amiga.

There's also FXScan and I think ImageFX has it's own scanning options.

Scanquix allows you to scan directly to disk so you can do really large scans and has a good range of options, it allows up to 1200-dpi on the Umax Astra.
