I`m going to buy cable internet soon.
And I was looking at the web site that is explaining how to configure network settings. (for Windows of course) I saw something like this:
NETWORK PROTOCOL SETTINGS:
MANUFACTURER: MICROSOFT
NETWORK PROTOCOL: TCP/IP
Primary Network Logon: Client for Microsoft Networks
Dynamic IP
It also says the first 3 digits of IP number and Default Gateway should be same.
Question: Would I be able to connect using MiamiDX. Whats that Manufacturer:Microsoft thing?

In simple terms to setup for networking you need to set the following:
IP Address: aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway:
For the IP address a good example is 192.168.0.x (where x is 2 thru to 255)
You will also need to enter in the IP addresses of your ISPs DNS servers. Your ISP can help you directly with this.

[For the more net-techy out there, I KNOW this is very simplistic, and I KNOW i could have given more info, but most people just need the basics]
