Any one have any experience with X-Surf cards - I cannot seem to get the one I have to work. It may be the card as the test program that comes on the CD indicates it cannot find the PnP ISA card or the RTL8019? I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them and could give some guidence - thanks!

The X-Surf is actually a mini-bridgeboard with a soldered-on ISA network card. So it's possible that the bridge circuitry on your card is damaged, or that test program is just spilling out a bunch of nonsense.
Have you put x-surf.device in DEVS:Networks? Try configuring a TCP/IP stack and see what happens.

If the test program does not find the card, it is not recognised at all. Check the early-startup menu if it is listed there as working. Check if it is sitting correctly in its slot. Try another slot. Check if other Zorro cards work in this Amiga. Connect a network cable and check if the connection lamp lights up.

The "xsurftest" diagnostic tool, access the card directly (it doesn't use/need the xsurf.device).
You should have in output:

After Thomas suggestions, try reseatting the only PLCC socketed IC (carefully and only if you know what you are doing) and clean the Zorro contacts.
Do you have some output from the test app or nothing?

Sounds like the Bridge contacts are broken as matt pointed out.
Does Early startup menu show the card as status 'working' or 'defective' (like i once had :-( )
Killed my x-surf by dropping it on the floor, jens repaired it for free anyway wich i think was very nice of him :-D

Something else to consider - what machine are you trying to use it in? My X-Surf wasn't recognized at all in the Winner ZIV busboard.

I do have the x-surf.device in DEVS:Networks - when I try to startup Genesis using the device I get this error
iface_init: could not open Workbench:Devs/Network/x-surf.device unit 0

I have tried the board in an A4000 in multiple slots and an A3000 multiple slots and the same thing in both.
I have had other boards in the same slots and they work...
The PLCC socketed IC you are talking about is on the bridge board correct - that is the only part of the card the system seems to know exists. There is either something wrong with the network card or the contacts between the cards?? Any other suggestions?
