I would like to make IRC efnet #amiga the official realtime chat/help channel for Amiga.org.
We have a strong knowledgeable user base, average about 50 people and looking to have some
moderated chats with some well-known programmers and Amiga people.
Come visit us today and feel the fire!

Amiga.org already has it's own IRC channel.
#Amiga.org on irc.webchat.org

@opus:
Try clicking the links under the 'join us for live chats' bit right to the left of your post ;-).

Efnet is skeery anymore. After years of attempted channel take overs. Admin coups and other trauma, it's a war-torn battlefield. Many of the ircops there have dangerous attitudes, there are people with botnets all up and down the place, and bleh. It's like a wounded lumbering behemoth. That's right, it's like over 16 years of injuries that have yet to be cleared up. I'd rather stick to the Webchat

Can I just make one thing clear, there is no such thing as an IRC chat room... its a *channel*. :-D

Very good point ryu =).

well, I didn't see there was a chat CHANNEL for here, I visited it and found only 7 clients there.
For the last 3 years or so I have been in efnet #amiga we have had 0 take overs or attempts for that matter, in fact, we have an ircop in there to help should we ever fall under attack.
Secondly, doing some research, I find that chat room is not only understood but acceptable.
