Is there some software hacks that makes it possible to use cd32 games with a a1200 using a standard ide cdrom?? Or do you need a special cd32 compitable cdrom kit?
Thanks in advance.

you need cd32 emulator search on aminet
-edit-
i think that idefix softwear has an emulator for this

I tried the AsimCDFS CDTV/CD32 emulator thing and did not have a hell of a lot of succes with it. Some games worked, other failed completely.

Most CD32 specific games will fail because the A1200 doesn't have the Akiko chip used to convert chunky video to planar.

the best cd32 emulator is the one that comes with idefix package...by Oliver kast
don't waste your time on other options
get it on aminet
not freeware anyways is the best
also that emulator works perfect on winuae making games works better than winuae'built in cd32 emulation

Nobody has mentioned WHDLoad yet. A lot of CD32 games have WHDLoad installers which will install them to hard disk and patch them for A1200/A4000 compatibility.

Yep but you miss out on the thing that makes cd32 game versions so special...the cd music
Same thing happens with some games run with the IDEFix CD32 emulator :-(

Will this also work with the cda tracks? Most cd32 titles also exist in floppy or HD format already, but the reason i want them for my a1200 is mainly because of the cd tracks.

IIRC there was a piece of hardware expansion with CD, wich was specifically designed so you could play CD32 games on your A1200. Not sure if it contained the Akiko chip, though.
