Title: OS 3.9 install problem
Post by: Srdjan on January 29, 2006, 11:47:11 PM
I'v just finished installing 0s3.9 with new Western-Digital 20gb hard disc on my A1200 PPC603e/25.
Everything was going fine,emergency-disc,four partitions reboot - and then on boot i have following error:
ramlib
Program Failed(#80000008).
Wait for disc activity to finish.

Any ideas??'

I had the same problem when i installed OS3.9 on my Amiga1200,it´s a problem that i managed to solve by adding some STACK in the Startup-Sequence,although some might say this is not the proper way to solve these problems, but i did like that.

Hi,

The OS 3.9 FAQ (http://www.gregdonner.org/os39faq/compatibility.html#2) states this:

Quote
...the ramlib problem is caused by third-party libraries performing too complicated/stack-hungry tasks (opening other diskresident libs) within their init function. These libraries are therefore breaking certain programming rules; and it's not a bug in ramlib itself.

Not sure if that helps!  :-?

Sounds to me like someone forgot to install the libraries for the accelerator.

Well, since the bppc has the 040 and/or 060 libraries resident that is not likely.  :-)

Have you installed both BoingBags? I think BoingBag 2 solves the ramlib issue.
