Shame on you for not using a static mat.
:-(

I have been working with computer hardware for 15 years and have never damaged anything yet through ESD. The boards will be posted in Anti-Static bags and well wrapped :)

Good kit for somebody there!

:boohoo: :boohoo:
It sucks not having a job or money. I'll be able to get me one, one day. Either that I'm going to make my own accelarator.
-
It will go into my Amiga Technologies A4000T, which is running a stock 25mHz 040 at the moment. Does anyone here have experience with running a Toaster/Flyer on the CSPPC?
-
I am currently running a Toaster/Flyer on a A4000T with a CS MK III 060(should be the same) and a Picasso IV. It's nice setup and it does work well. It's new to me however and I'm still not sure what the best version of OS is for it. Currently I have 3.9 on it and the T/F crashes on the first try, after one re-boot it's fine.
I may set up a 3.1 partition just for it. Let me know how yours goes.

Heck, for 480 UKP I'd consider selling my CSPPC + CVPPC...

Well, I think if I remember correctly someone from Canada just sold a CS PPC on eBay for $1500.00 Buy-it-Now, so it looks to me like Dave got a good deal. Especially with the graphics card included.
-
No that is a average deal, just because some ID10T bought one for $1500 doesn't mean thats the going price! lol

Somehow I doubt that that particular deal went through. Personally I believe that the seller bought it with a second account, making it look like the deal went through. Sometime in the near future I think you will see the exact same board for sale, at a lower price, hoping that someone believes the boards are actually worth 1500 USD will buy it, thinking they have made a good deal...
Personally I sold a similar setup for 600 EURO, and people still thought it was way overpriced...
-
Nice one, AmigaDave! I will post it tomorrow. Have fun with your new upgrades!
More A4000 CPU's/Gfx cards/machines coming soon, when I have sorted them out, stay tuned...

It is kind of disturbing to see people so quickly call others 'idiots' for buying a much sought after piece of hardware. Anyone buying any piece of Amiga hardware at just about any price nowadays could fall under the same accusation. Lighten up people.
-
Well maybe I was being a little harsh, but unless you are filthy rich, paying $1,500 for a PPC card and thinking that is the going price is a little off the top! Lighten up.
-
Well I don't even want to think about what my Amiga stuff has cost me over the years but I consider it money well spent. Better than on drugs and alcohol...well maybe not beer but still good stuff.
-
Tell me about it! I have a lot of Amiga stuff and it adds up fast! I am out $850 on a PPC card that died and is still in Germany! (DCE has it hostage)
-
I'm curious if the seller could have earned even more money than 480GBP had the auction started without a buy-it-now price, at someting like 1GBP. :-)
-
I think starting at 1GBP and leaving it on a 10-day auction would have seen WW3 break out. If you have the patience that is the way to go.
Also, 1GBP gets audience participation going since people who only have 20GBP to spare can claim they fought valiantly!

The thing that makes me laugh my arse off is the people that bid low and actually hope to win!! Hahahahaha
