I have been working on reviving and reconfiguring my trusty A2000 over the last few weeks and have the GVP TekMagic 060/50mHz, Seagate Barracuda 9.1gb HD and OS3.9 w/bb2 installed and working. I bought the TekMagic accelerator on eBay and it came with 40mb RAM installed, 2 GVP 60pin, 4mb simms and 2 standard 72pin, 16mb simms.
Wanting to max out the RAM I bought 4 - 72pin, 32mb, 60ns, EDO, dbl sided simms, but when I install them, the power light flickers quickly about 12 times, pauses, repeats, pauses, repeats .... Sometimes it goes through this cycle only a few times and quits trying to boot, others it just continues to repeat the cycle. Gray screen the entire time. As soon as I put the old simms back in, it boots up fine.
I have read that the EDO makes no difference on Amigas, but that it still works fine. I have misplaced my TekMagic manual tonight, but was sure the simms I ordered were what was listed in it (except the EDO part).
Any ideas what might be the problem? It isn't the jumpers as the setting for 16mb simms is the same as that for 32mb simms. :-?

check out the jumper settings once more just to be sure here (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=181) it seems it does meen a diffrence if you use doubblesided simms etc

I have the TRexxII GVP-M board for the A4000 and it *definitely* doesn't like edo ram. Mine only works with FPM simms. Try some of these instead of those nasty edo jobbies.

Anyone want to buy some 32mb 72pin EDO simms? I wonder if they work in a CyberStorm PPC accelerator? I have tried with and without the double sided jumper in place (JR6).
Thanks for the replies.

EDO simms work on the CyberstormPPC, but there is no bonus to using them, the extra parity bits are ignored. I have 4 32MB EDO simms on mine and they work fine. The TRexxII won't work at all with EDO, but 4 FPM 32MB simms work great, I think you need to set the double-sided jumper though (can't remember which one).
