I've been offered Kickstart 2.04 ROM w/ Workbench 2.1 disc for my A500. I was wondering if this will work ok without bugs?
You'll have to excuse my ignorance, I'm a n00b!

I ran Workbench 2.1 on my A500 with Kickstart 2.05 (A600 version I think) with no problems at all.

In fact, Workbench 2.1 works with any 2.x Kick because there is no Kick 2.1

2.1 works great. It has most of the functionality of 3.1 for the A500 except you can't use web browsers or programs for the net requiring 3.1's graphics.library. I use Amigaguide instead of Multiview to view amigaguide files on 2.1.

Thanks a lot guys. This is my first week for "real" with an amiga, I'm just trying to get this thing up and running. Luckily, I live right near Softhut and he said he had this in stock.

One point on Kick 2.04 may be interesting: it doesn't supports the internal IDE-connector inside the A600, but it shouldn't be interesting with a A500, because it has none. That's why I bought a new Kick-Rom for my new A600 nearly 20 years ago.
Greets from Germany - an' sry for my english - I'm still improving =)

There weren't any A600's 20 years ago...The A600 was
introduced in 1992.
