Title: Software for Scanners
Post by: StormLord on January 23, 2006, 10:34:58 AM
Does anyone know any software to use a scsi scanner ?
I have an UMAX-S12 scsi scanner and an Linotype-Hell saphir also scsi and I would like to use them with my amiga.
I prefer to use the linotype one...
I have heard something about scan-quix but I dont know if it supports the linotype series and also don't know where to buy it if its commercial or to find it if its shareware-freeware.
Thanks

Yassou

Commercially there is FxScan from IOSpirit which I use with my agfa snapscan 310 and there is also Betascan which is on aminet. FxScan can use the betascan drivers which is how I have mine set up. FxScan has a good interface and also has OCR which is not that quick but does the job quite well.

My advice would be to check out whether betascan, fxscan, scanquix, etc. have the driver for your scanner first.

cheers

billy
