Title: Toaster 4K vs Toaster 2K
Post by: ckillerh3 on January 21, 2006, 05:18:00 AM
Howdy -

If you run a Video Toaster 2.0 in an Amiga 4000T
case along with the 4.1 software, is there any real
performance difference?

The only changes I can physically see from the 4K card
to the 2K card was the detachable end to fit into the
somewhat funny 4000 desktop case.

I know that the 4K software can take advantage of the AGA chipset for some wipes etc and wonder if that will still be seen using a 2K card on a 4000 machine?

Thanks toaster guys !

I've never totally understood what a Videotoaster is... is it a genlock with a graphics processor or something?

Interesting you say it makes use of the AGA chipset, I thought the Toaster used the video port. Wasn't there a pass-thru for the Picasso IV?

Ya won't be able to use the color wipes if you have a vt2k board in a aga machine.
Toasterpaint is improved some what with the vt4k in an aga machine also. Other than that there is no real performance differences.  The vt4.1 software is an improvement over 3.x software using either card.
VT information is getting harder to find...
