There are already people developing boards for the AmigaOS 4.0.  Why introduce another competitor that won't pay licencing fees or help port the OS to the new firmware?

Because this board is... available now / from people with a tested and proved track record of producing PPC hardware / smaller / better / cheaper / faster (from what I've read about the PowerVixxen) /  not from a couple of blokes sitting in their bedroom drawing up schematics in DPaint.

They're talking about selling it at $150 once it goes into high volume production.

Anyway, I have had an idea regarding the licensing fees - how about a donation scheme instead?

Those people who like the idea of the licensing fee can simply donate $100 every time they buy a piece of hardware to 'that completely irrelevant company currently trying to sell crappy casino games for Pocket PC' and the rest of us can use the $100 to purchase Amiga software, thus supporting Amiga developers.
