Title: Which File System to use?
Post by: chiark on January 20, 2006, 09:41:26 AM
Hi folks, I'm still running an old version of AmiFileSafe that I bought as a result of reviewing it for Amiga Computing.  Having just installed 3.9 using FFS, I'm stunned that FFS has not progressed any better and am now thinking of changing file systems.

SFS gets a fair amount of mentioning, however it seems that development stopped in 1999 if I'm looking at the right site (http://www.xs4all.nl/~hjohn/SFS/) so:

 - is there any more recent update to SFS?
 - has someone else taken over development?
 - it's still in "beta" apparently - is it good enough to use?
 - anything else worth considering, like PFS (not that I can find it to buy anywhere!)?
 - what is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Cheers,
Nick
