Title: A1200 and flickering issue
Post by: starf81 on January 18, 2006, 09:58:39 PM
Hello!

After a quite long silence, I'm here again!  :-)

I'd like to share a problem with you to find a solution.
Well, two of my three A1200's motherboards show a strange issue. Sometimes the pointer flickers on screen.

It's so strange because, as I said, two motherboards (1D1 and aD4) have exactly the same defect. The third (rev 2B) is perfect!

Can you help me?
Thanks in advance
Alex

The Amiga's pointer system interests me - it's not like the PC's is it?

I read somewhere it's sort of genlocked over the display in hardware whereas a PC it's just a sprite?

When you say it flickers, does it appear then disappear? If it's not hardware could it simply be two bits of mouse-pointer blanking utilities like MCP/MultiCX conflicting with each other?

Amiga pointer is a hardware spite.

Most modern gfxcards have hardware sprite pointer aswell, except that they often also support alpha transparency.

Piru: Hardware spite?

Sounds like the time I bought an X-Box just so that Microsoft could make a loss on it...
