I've decided to connect my A1200 to the net with my router, a Linksys WAG354G. It's been working fine for a couple of months with my WinXP machine connected to it.
I have a PCMCIA ethernet adapter on my A1200, which was working fine with my previous Netgear router. I have changed the settings on my Linksys one so it doesn't use DHCP. I've set up Genesis in almost the same way as I did when I was using the Netgear router, except the gateway is 192.168.1.1 with the Linksys router.
Thing is, when I click 'online' in genesis, it appears to connect with no errors. The light on the router comes on when I do this to show the ethernet cable is connected. Also, the amiga's ip appears in the router setup screen (on my pc, which is also connected via wifi). However, I cannot connect to any sites in Aweb or Ibrowse, can't connect in Jabberwocky, nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas?

Can you ping the router?
Can you ping by IP anything outside?
Can you ping by name anything outside?
I guess you've got the old DNS setting and that server won't serve you...

Do you get the same problem with Miami..?
an idea to check if a software or hardware issue.

It seem to be a DNS problem.
do on the same network (on Win) : an IPCONFIG /ALL and see what is the DNS.

Ah, sorted it... yes is was that I hadn't entered the DNS ip as my router's ip (I think). Put that in a now it's working well. Forgot how slow web browsing was on 060 and AGA, well at least ebay is. But it works :)
