Awesome.  Why on earth would you sell that?  (And, without offering worldwide shipping...)
Title: Re: Seen amiga600.net? Want the machine?

It's pretty delicate so worldwide it might not take it. Plus with the monitor it will weigh so much to post. Also it is PAL so there is not a huge need to offer it to the USA, unless I was to sell the monitor separately.

What about humble NZ? Without the monitor? ;)

Could do, but it might reach you in a 1,000,000 pieces. You want me to switch worldwide on?

Just curious, but does the domain go with it? I mean what's the point of either without the other? :-D

I would love to give the domain away, but too much important email goes to there. I could give the new owner ftp access and an email account (webmaster@amiga600.net?). But I will discuss that with the winner of the auction.

Man, it's a pity you sell it.
Keep it!!! Still time to cancel the auction.
I have the same setup and will never sell it.

Otherwise, please sell me the workstation alone :-) We have discussed by email about it yet, and i can't find one like that for my beloved A630 :-)

Update:

Ok being as I have to re-instate the old floppy drive to get the machine back up and running to format the HDD, I have decided to LEAVE THE SOFTWARE ON! That's right, even the keyfiles will be yours for things like Voyager and AmIRC.

I do not have a OS 3.9 CD so you will be responsible for buying a copy if you want to legally run OS3.9 as I sold my CD with my CD32 Promodule project a few weeks ago (see: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=98930&item=8248546654 ) and have not yet replaced it.

This move is down to laziness and the fact that 2 things will happen after my busy period a work ends: 1. Either OS4 will be complete when I am ready to do my A4000 up for general use. or 2: I would have bought a Troika Amy 05 board and sold my PPC 4000 (in which case look out for that auction!)

Still not getting rid of the domain name though! An @amiga600.net email address for the winner is the best I can offer due to emails I get to me on that domain. Not long to go now.... only 2 days left. Any questions, please PM me. Thanks.

Ok, not long now before the auction ends, and I have one last thing I can offer, just in case the winner requires. If you contact me as soon as the auction ends/payment is made, stating that you want me to get a new case from amigadeals/vesalia or whoever is cheapest, i will restore it to it's former glory. I will also diagnose why the new FDD stops the machine working (if requested) and proceed to:

a) Either send new drive back for replacement (only bought a few weeks ago) or

b) replace floppy drive with original one,

c) renew floppy cable or

d) it does work with the case off, so some simple steps to stop the cable being crushed might be all it needs (floppy power and data cable are the other way round on the new drive).

Not a bad offer, if you want the system fully running as described on www.amiga600.net

I will do this at no charge but you need to paypal me the money for parts, for the case etc. which we will shop around online for.

You should have put on a reserve. That's what you get. Amiga's are worth what the nut pays for them. You have not met the right nut at the right time. Sorry to see I've missed out. On the other hand shipping it here would have been killing.

Here's when a bunch of "nuts" are at it. :-)

You win some, you loose some. The worst thing about ebay is people bid at the last minute, I set this auction at a low starting price i.e. 1 pound. Next time, I will forget about getting a bidding frenzy going, I will have a buy it now price and/or a high starting bid. Instead of getting 20+ low bids, I will get 1 or 2 bids but for a more realistic price.

You are going to regret selling that A600, mark my words!
Anyway your biggest mistake was selling it only to the EU as there are already lots of them over there. Consider that I paid more (well, almost) for a bare A600 (although in a mint condition - never opened) on ebay, and the shipping from the UK did cost a lot, however I think it was well worth it all things considered.

Secondly you should not have sold it with a monitor - those are mostly worthless today as one can get a scandoubler and use any old (or even new) VGA monitor. You could have sold it separately for £5-10.

And it's not the buy-it-now that would have made the difference with such an auction IMHO.

Here in Aus that price would be about right, even a little high!

A500's go for about AU$20 or $5-$10 if you find them in a Good-Sammy's.

A600's not much more, certainly less than $100, probably a bit more for an expanded one?

I sold my A1200 for $140 (105USD / 59Pounds) with a bunch of stuff thrown in for free.

We dont have the population to sustain even a very small Amiga enthusiast group to keep the prices up.

no his biggest mistake was to sell the project as a package, instead of selling by parts. Ild have paid upto $150 just for the 68030 (and I know I'ld still be outbid). But monitor and stuff is a real turn off for overseas bidders.

yes you're exactly right. though I think the monitor could fetch little bit more.

And the bloke who won it shops Amiga apart and sells the them seperatly.
Would never buy anything of him. What a shame. :pissed:
I just missed the auction because my bloody ISP had connection problem. That taught me to wait to the last minute to bid on an Amiga. :boohoo:

That'd be too bad if the auction winner is a chop-shop ebay artist :(

maybe that info can allow the seller to void the winning bid???

I was in holydays and missed the end of this story.
Can't believe the final price of this auction :-o
Never seen this on ebay.

I will never sell my own setup (pretty much the same as this one) for less than 250 Euros. I will never sell it at any price anyway :-)
