Title: Output Shell Freeze

 This is strange,when i try to open a newshell,it simply freezes(not the OS),anyone know what could be causing this problem?

Something strange in s:shell-startup ?

Run SnoopDOS and look what it is doing.

 Hmm,i followed your advice and tried to track down the source of the problem with SnoopDos,however SnoopDos log is empty meaning nothing happens?

Finally i´ve figured out what´s causing the freeze of the output shell,it so happens that when i remove the VisualPrefs program the freeze bug also disapears.

i install the visualprefs once in os3,1 but i didn't have this kind of truble...

Hmmm... Ah yes, good oul' Visual prefs. No two machines ever seem to react to it the same way... I'm guessing that the shell has some sort of special gadgets on its window? Possibly confused VisualPrefs, but you never can tell really...

do you use the standard shell or KConShell? in what OS?
KCon has a bag that probably removed from newer version (i run the v1,6)
