Title: OS 4.0 and an Amiga One demo
Post by: tonyvdb on January 13, 2006, 06:55:39 PM
Hi guys,

I hade the opertunity to see up front a fairly in depth look at the Amiga One running OS 4.0 and I must say I am impressed :-D
Its a shame that the Amiga One is not available at this point. OS 4.0 has some very nice features that will give users a very usable Amiga software package far better then previous releases.
I want to thank member Redfox for the demo at our Amicue meeting.

Hi tonyvdb,

I had alot of fun at the AmiCUE meeting last night.  It was great to meet you, mpiva and the rest of the gang.  I'll definitely be back.  It was the first time in all my years as an Amiga owner that I have actually gone to an Amiga user group meeting.

IMHO, the guys at Hyperion and the other unnamed developers and beta testers should be proud of what they have accomplished so far with Amiga OS 4.0.

As a user, I've had fun experimenting with Amiga OS 4.0.  Each upgrade has allowed more possibilities.  I've had a chance to try out some new programs, as well as tinker with my old applications and E-UAE.

It was fun to share OS4, some new programs and some of my old favourites with you guys last night.  Even the grim reaper made a few appearances  ;-)  (he doesn't like to be left out of the fun).

I also want to redfox for the great demonstration.  It was nice to get my hands on one of these new Amigas and try OS4 out.  I always regretted not buying one when the hardware was still available.  Oh well, hopefully that will soon be resolved.  I'm really looking forward to redfox's next demo of Update 4 hopefully next month.  But this time I'm going to bring a CD full of my software to test out.  Hmmm... let's see what should I bring... MapleV, TurboCalc (with some of my more complex spreadsheets), SuperBase, Imagine, StarGen, my Planet generator... and of course games like Quake, GeneticSpecies, Orbit (anybody even know this "game"), FreeSpace... I'm going have to think of more. :-P

Anyway, thanks again redfox for the demo, and thanks to Hyperion for all their hard work continuing to make the best OS in the world.  It was a good meeting.
