Title: Annoying crash when dragging scrollbars in iBrowse
Post by: mr_a500 on January 13, 2006, 06:45:49 AM
This problem only started happening in the last few weeks and I didn't install any new software in that time. When viewing a webpage in iBrowse and dragging the vertical scrollbar (to scroll the page), I get a total crash - either 81000005, 80000004 or 80000003. This also happens when dragging the vertical scrollbar in edit windows (like when posting). It happens when I have plenty of memory left. I don't get this crash when using the keyboard to scroll (can't always scroll with keyboard). Has anyone else experienced something like this?

I was posting a painfully long post on A.org when I had this damn crash and lost the post!

I have never heard of this b4.  Are you using any special mouse software like a scroll mouse, usb  mouse or something of the kind?

Have you tested to see if scrolling dies in any other programs or in file folders.  This almost sounds like either an MUI problem, or an actual hardware issue to me, like overheating CPU.  But, that's just a guess.  Anyone else have anything?

Have you tried a reinstall?

This problem only happens in iBrowse and I'm not using any special mouse software.

A reinstall of what - iBrowse, MUI, MUI classes, datatypes? That could be painful - and what are the odds that a file suddenly got corrupted? Maybe I'll do some file comparisons.
