Looking to buy an accelerator/RAM expansion for my trusty PAL A1200.
Doesn't have to be lightning fast, just inexpensive.
It took me 5 years to get my A1200 back (From UK) and she needs a little boost and reward for booting up 1st time from being in storage.
Also looking to buy anything else interesting, full machines, parts etc.
Prefer USA based but UK is good too.
Thanks all.
Edit: Things I have to trade...
1x250GB Maxtor HDD
2x160GB Maxtor HDD
Various PC hardware, memory, CPUs etc.
Incar MP3 system, head unit and 20GB harddrive. WiFi enabled (Transfer MP3s to the incar unit while it's parked in your garage/driveway) Boxed, used for literally 1 hour and practically new.
Ability to transfer MP3s over to the HDD via USB.

This is how out of the loop I am....
I was offered (Via Amibench) a 030 Magnum 40MHZ with 8MB for 25 UK pounds but I'm a bit apprehensive if the seller has no references, especially if they're 3000 miles away - I've been burned too many times.
I don't want anything too fast, just enough to scrape by with for OS3.9 but has anyone had any experience with this accelerator or if this is a "Too good to be true" price?
Also looking for A1200 3.1 ROMS and a new mouse.
Thanks all.

Hi, sounds like a good price. Don't know that hardware, but you can look around the web for some info. Not sure about it being 'too good to be true'. I have bought miggy gear for very low prices before, usually when people have no further interest in the hardware. See if you can get a photo of the gear, and maybe a screen shot showing the accellerator working (not sure what's possible here, but at least workbench will show if the RAM is available). Try to call the seller, and see what the person is like. Also get postal insurance. I've probably been pretty lucky, but have always managed to get good deals on reliable second hand hardware. There are some philanthropic people in the Amiga community. Maybe you could ask the seller why the item is not just being listed on ebay? One can sometimes see people just dumping their miggy gear, for little or nothing, cause they can't be bothered trying to sell it.
... or you could just buy from a reputable shop.

I'd love to if I had the cash, the start of this year has been a true nightmare both financially and emotionally.
Continental Airlines lost some of my luggage (Including some of my old Amiga hardware I bought back over), the Mrs now has bronchitis, my dog had to have surgery last Tuesday, we had to go for my last INS interview Thursday and it's just been a generally arse start to 2006.
Maybe when I've sold some of this PC gear off I'll hit amigakit up for some goodies.
Either that or the Mrs will be sold into slavery.

Bum deal. Really sorry to hear that. Hope your luck improves soon. I suppose if that happened to me, I would be feeling pretty cautious too. ;-)

I have 1x1GHz Athlon, and IIRC an 800 and 850 Duron which are SocketA - in Slot A I have a 1GHz Athlon.
I also have an Asus A7V133RAID motherboard.

Man, I know how you feel. My 2005/2006 hasn't been going as I expected. I didn't lose luggage in an airline, but I share your pain. My situation is that I haven't had a steady job since August, and despite my valiant searching, there are no jobs to be had. Even the burger flipping places are holding onto their jobs for dear life. I have this constant pain in my right shoulder, and I can't go to the doctor because I don't have the money nor insurance to cover it. :-(
Yeah so far my g/f accident caused my Asus A7NX8-E board to get fried, I accidently damaged my Tiger 230T board trying to get it out of my case to replace my A7Nx8-E board, knocking of one of the micro resistors on it.
On top of that, we are living off instant noodles, meatloaf, my truck needs a major tune up, rent, criminal auto insurance, car payment suck up the little money from what she makes. Yeah and I think my A4000 needs a new CDROM, because it doesn't want to be recognized (gonna make it hard to reinstall OS 3.9)
But, hey , we still have a little bit of the year left, and I guess things might be looking up. I guess I can kill my pain by watching the Olympics, eh non?

-sorry- stupid FireFox refresh, double post

Most European countries have free healthcare paid for in the income taxes so there isn't usually a worry about small consultations or short hospital stays.
Hey, doesn't OS3.9 have a facility to make an Emergency disk for booting on the floppy drive?
Oh, and be careful with Meatloaf, looks a shady character to me...
-
Well saying that I can't get the cdrom to work (I think it wen't poof), and I don't really have another cdrom drive to replace it with. Of course my A2000 has a SCSI one, and I have loads of SCSI cdroms and SCSI harddrives.
I was thinking about trying my Sony CD-RW/DVD, or my DVD-R drive that I have in my AMD system, but I'm skeered to because of what happened to my other board. I even think my Radeon 9800 Pro board is going out too :nervous:
Hey, meatloaf is some of the best poverty meals out there.

I think it was Meatloaf, the dude, not meatloaf, the food, which was being referred to in the previous post. I wouldn't find him too palatable either.
