beat it as toreador twice and now i am nearly done again as malkavian.

if you haven't played as malkavian you really havn't played it. i'll try nosferatu next.

btw to all newcomers it is an adult oriented game. :-)

I've just completed it as Toreador (I sided with the camarilia ;-)), took me about 10days of solid play (too a while to figure out how to get past the boat bit after the fight at the society of leopold)... I've just started it again as a Malkavian

This is a damn fine game! I love the Ocean House section... the best game sequence I've ever played :-)

watch the tv every once in a while and the reporter adds a little to the report as if he is speaking to you. also in one bit the tv actually has a conversation with you.
wierd.

personally i like the haunted mansion bit.

oh i misstated i completed it once with toreador twice with tremere and nearly at the end with the malkavian.

Yeah, that's Ocean House!!! We both like the same bit then! :-)

According to one of the game's designers, the haunted mansion section was originally much longer... but it had to be cut due to time constraints...

btw did you figure out who the cabbie is?

i don't want to spoil it since the malkavian eludes to his identity during the endgame.

He's made some comments about the "experiments" and past references which make me think he's quite a bit older than most kindred...

that is an understatement. :-D

check out the sound files that came with the game in the game directory for the answer. btw it is just trivia since the game didn't properly address this part as far as i am concerned.

Any more talk like that and we'll have to start putting the word Spoiler in the topic ;-)

Damn, it's a shame Troika went bankrupt... I would have loved a sequal to this game :-(

same here though there have been many online petitions to get valve to buy the rights to the game so who knows. i wouldn't get my hopes up though.

I'd settle for a patch to fix all the bugs :/ It is however an awesome game and i seem to be one of the few that bought it when it came out (i think it was totally overshadowed by HL2's release which in turn led to troikas demise, the irony here being that troika paid valve to use their source engine), you should check out the previous one which is imo a lot better

*the above could be punctuated better but im tired and im just home from work so i cant be arsed.

actually no. the game was ready long before halflife2 came out. in the license however it stipulated that hl2 was to be released first. this delay is what hurt them the most not to mention they were unable to update the graphics to match hl2's improvements from the time of the code theft.

i had to hack my system to make the game run. it kept resetting the refresh higher than my monitor could handle. by hack i mean i had to lock the refresh rate so the game couldn't change it.

Yeah I had to install the 1.2 patch to get it to run properly.

Causing them to have to release it at the same time as HL2 at which point it was totally overshadowed by it. You just agreed with me and disagreed at the same time :-P

troika was drowning before the game even released. this that you are suggesting merely finished them off. hence my statement
