How come nobody ever ported CDR-TOOLS to the Amiga?
It would seem that free cd burning software would have been ported years ago.
-
No CDRTools, but cdrecord has been available for a very long time. Also, DVDRTools is available since 2003. So, there are definately ways to record CDs on Amiga for free.
-
I'm not sure what CDR-TOOLS is but cdrtools for the Amiga can be found here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=48010&package_id=116341

Why would you need a GUI? "cdrecord" a.k.a cdrtools, is easy easy easy from the CLI.
-
Yeah its easy..but whit GUI progy looks better and more profesioanly..and using options in progy is faster..

Because we humans are getting lazier and lazier.......and the worlds problems keep increasing...............its difficult to have to remember how to run commands for each and every program, and how to execute them.
It would be the same as asking "Why Do We Need Workbench?......why not just run everything from CLI or Shell?"
in this day and age........a GUI is required...........especially on the Amiga more than any computer in the world..........so that a typical person can see how easy it is to burn a CD or a DVD.
I hate having to figure out what to type all the time to get things done..........sometimes I have to write a script just to execute a command off ToolsDaemon with everything set on the command line.

Yeah man that is word..GUI ruleZ....please make GUI for this great progy...and tnx!!

Aghh so it was ported...
...just ain't on Aminet for some unknown reason...
A Gui would be nice for most people, but I've been using this since I bought my Dreamcast, Command Line will be fine. :)
