Anyone else having fun out in the snow?
-
Not really - it's not much fun trying to keep my motorbike upright while banging my hands together to keep them warm, wiping snow off my visor, and waving my legs to get the snow out of my boots :-D
-
@ Red Melons
Not much fun for truck drivers either !!
Viz .. uphill approaching ....
"Don't stop you silly bugger"
GREAT .. Now we're ALL fuxxored
(good to be on a bike then !!)

Bah, humbug to both of you :-P
This one guy yesterday stopped suddenly at some traffic lights and all the snow slid off his roof, so he used his wipers to get it off the windscreen, except that this just created a pile of snow in front of his front tyres. Then when he tried to pull away in his (front wheel drive) car he couldn't and caused a huge queue on the roundabout behind.

:laughing:
It's not that deep up here yet, but it's been snowing on and off since 7ish last night :-D

No snow here, a bit of a frost on the ground, but that's about it. (The windscreen on my car is not even frozen up)
-
It's just turned very misty here :-D
-
Hardly a blizzard here like the news kept saying we were gonna get :-(
At best it's about 2-3cm deep, at least Dumb&Dumber like playing in it (piccy link (http://www.doobreynet.co.uk/pix/snowdogs.jpg))

Oh great, here's my deja vu like chance to air my annual whining grievances about the complete lack of snow in Glasgow.
The last snow fall of any note here was exactly six years ago.
We had over a foot and it lay for a few days.
I bought a snowboard a few months later.
Hasn't f*cking snowed since. :-(
-
Wilse...
Hurry up and SELL that board!!!! :-P
Can't you just borrow one?
-
Having fun in the snow? Not with that blizzard on the way. The government is advising people to stay home, and I think that's a good idea. :-D
-
@whatbang
Sheesh, what do the government have against PPC boards? :-D

I've just had to ride my motorcycle home. It was Ok on the A-roads and dual carriageways, but when I got to my local estate, the snow was compacted into sheet ice.
I got off and decided to push the bike home, but my feet couldn't get any grip and I couldn't get the bike to move without me falling over! Fortunately a guy saw me struggling and came out and helped me push it. Of course, it turned out he was a biker as well :-)
-
Well, it could have been worse, it could have been a chav trying to steal your bike....!

:python: :lol:
Anyway. The "blizzard" turned out to be a nice little snow fall, so we ended up having a snowball fight at work today! :-D
-
SNOW?? what is this snow thing?

Not for you, anyway. :-P

@T-bone & jkirk:
It's that white powder that people have under their noses.

Yeah. That's how people started to believe in Santa Claus! :lol:

Fecking ice!
Our path is slightly clear, but the pavement at the end and the road is just crap solid snow with lots of ice surrounding it.
What should take 30 seconds to walk out of our street can now take 5 minutes. 10 if you've to avoid a car!
-
It's all a distant memory now, on Friday we were greeted to a view similar to the inside of Kate Moss's nose but by Saturday it had all turned to gritty brown standing water.
-
@wilse
Hehehe ! no snow* here either. dunno what all the fuss was about !
*I say no snow: the frost was thicker.
-
Aahh, the ice hasn't lasted long :-D
It's almost gone now. Just a few unseen patches here and there.
-
We had about 2 decent days worth back up in the north east around Dec 30th or so. Alas it rained soonafter which accelerated the thaw. Pity...
-
We had quite a bit in the end.
What was odd though is that it seemed to linger solely around our road for much longer than anywhere else. There was still thick icy/snowy/slush in our road, when everywhere else was clear.
There was still some remnants about as late as Wednesday this week.

@Karlos
I'm always weary of making snow angels after seeing a mate uncovering a dog turd while making one.

:lol: how delightful... not!
There wasn't much danger of spreading a "hound mound" the day I made the snow angel in my avatar. Deer turd was a distinct threat though...

I've just been sleigh riding this evening at my bro's house in Oslo in the snow...so nyah! :-P
