Title: AGA image viewer
Post by: HardStep on December 26, 2005, 09:36:09 PM
Hi,
as i've been away from the scene for a bunch of years and returing now, i'd like to know is there a fast and good image viewer for AGA and 060?
And also a video player to play small avi-s(even div-x?
) and mpeg-s. Don't expec much from video players on 060/AGA, just for fun.
Thanks.

I think RiVA is the fastest MPEG player for a 68k machine. And for viewing images I have always been very fond of Visage. All to be found on AmiNet (http://www.aminet.net).

The best image viewer EVER is visage. I wish there was a WarpOS version for this great viewer...

If frogger is not fast enough for you, you can buy riva.

As for div-x playing on a 68060, you can forget it. Even the PPC603 is not fast enough. The graphics system is not a factor here, the CPU is the one that counts.

For MPEG videos I've tried Ripley (from aminet). It doesn't support sound but it does support HAM (6 and 8bpp) so at least it looks pretty good.

Just use the DT parameter, and the WarpOS Datatypes (http://www.warpdt.co.uk/) naturally ;-)

e.g. "Visage RAM:#?.jpg DT"

Yes, i know about the warp datatypes. The problem is that they are not able to display a picture progressively.
