Title: Module tracking program
Post by: whabang on December 25, 2005, 09:20:05 PM
My uncle used to have a tracker-program, that allowed you to use notes to create modules. It was extremely easy to use (if you could read notes :-)), but I've forgotten it's name. Anyone know what it is called?

Hmm, the only thing that comes to mind is Octamed. I think you could place notes on a notesheet with it.

I know for sure it wasn't Octamed. This particular program could only manage four channels, and actually worked on my uncle's CDTV.

I know OctaMED supports that, and it starts you off with 4 channels, but you can go beyond that if you desire.

MusicX may have that feature, but I've not touched it in a long time.

Was it the original 4-channel MED? I can't remember if that included a notation editor or whether that only appered in OctaMED?

Or maybe The Music Studio (Activision)? But that didn't really create music modules in the true sense...

Perhaps Aegis Sonix, though again this didn't create standard modules...

If you're using it on an Amiga, use OctaMed... If you want it on your PC, I recommend Impulse Tracker... Which will allow you to create any MOD-based music format file.

Ahh, reminds me of Screamtracker... The Future Crew STILL rules!

Well, there also was SoundTracker, which was the original, followed by several clones, one of the best being "ProTracker". StarTrekker was also capable of playing MODs over midi.
