Title: Backing up ROMs
Post by: Dingo_aus on December 24, 2005, 07:21:21 AM
I've backed up my A500's kickstart rom to my PC's harddrive.

Now my question is, how to use it back in the original A500 should the first one fail.

Is it just a matter of "burning" it into an EEPROM, or are EEPROMs not compatible with the original EPROMs?

Has anyone tried this? or better yet is there a website with info?

Thanks,
Nigel

There's a hack on Aminet to build an eeprom board for the 500. You might take a look at that. IF you build one, you don't need any special hardware to burn a replacement eprom.
