Just a quick question regarding LiteOn burners, I have a LiteOn cdr burner in my PC (cant remember model) and was wondering if I could use this in my Amiga. I have a register copy of burnit but it doesn't seem to support LiteOn burners, I also had a look at Make CD and cant seem to find any LiteOn drivers for that. but I did notice that Amigakit sells LiteOn burners and they come with a trial of MakeCD. is this a special version of makecd or do you just select one of the other cdr drivers to use?

@nasty
Every modern CD-R(W)/DVD-R(W) drive is pretty much standard and works with the generic driver (MakeCD: CDR_SCSI3_ATAPI).
My Pegasos2 LiteOn DVDRW works just fine with MakeCD.

Thanks Piru,
which burning software is better to use makecd or burnit? as I've said I already own a register version of Burnit but cant get it to burn anything, I did order a teac r55s burner of ebay, as I know that burnit supports it but this drive is a scsi so I will have to wait until my new PPC arrives to try it out

I don't have enough experience with BurnIT to give you "better than x" comparision, but MakeCD has always worked for me (3 different drives).

The LiteOn (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/index.php?manufacturers_id=12) drives we sell are fully ATAPI compliant so they work well on the Amiga. Their Smartburn technology is very reliable and because they are smaller than conventional CD drives they can fit in an Amiga 4000!

I use 2 LiteOn burners in combination with MakeCD.
Works great with my A4000 & A600!

Man o man! I am working on inserting a slimline DVDRW/CDRW into my A600.its a standard 68000 A600. Will I be able to burn at 7mhz?
Nevertheless, i'm still going to put one in as a onetime deal incase I upgrade my A600 with an accelerator (hopefully hppacito's)
Some guy created CDTV ROMS that allow you to turn your Amiga into a CDTV so that it goes to the CDTV audio CD screen to play CD's....it doesnt seem to be fully complete, but man! what a treat...I hope it works with CD+G (Karaoke CD's) this would be the ultimate, as you will be able to Genlock the Karaoke words over Video............I can already do this with my CD32...................Karaoke is extremely Popular here in New York and increasing in popularity!.

My A600 is equiped with an MTec630/42Mhz and
Alfa-Data PCMCIA CD1200 controller. I never tried
to burn CD's with a stock A600 68000/7Mhz, so I
really can't tell you if it works...
But I can imagine that you're gonna get buffer-
underruns because it reads the data to slow from
harddisk for writing it to CD. Some extra FastRam
should help also to avoid these buffer-underruns.

Can the CD32 play CD+G Karaoke CD's without the FMV module installed? I bought a couple of Karaoke CD's but have not been able to get them to work on either my CD32 or CDTV.

Yet another reason to avoid New York.

@amigadave
Yes! The CD32 and CDTV both play CD+G (Karaoke CD) fine without the FMV card,
as soon as you insert the CD, it goes t the normal Audio CD screen, after you press play it goes to the Lyrics scren within 3 seconds or so.
I heard it mentioned in a number of magazines that the CD32 can Play Video CD and CD+G with the FMV card installed, which I thought was weird, because the CD32 does not need the FMV card to play CD+G.
