Title: Guess what I found in a box here...
Post by: CatHerder on December 22, 2005, 05:59:13 AM
Well go figure. When I couldn't source oscillators over a year ago to solder on these 1200 motherboards I have I actually had a box of the things sitting here the whole time...

If anyone needs these, let me know. I see SoftHut and Centsible sell most of them for $9 each (or more), I'll just figure out shipping [pm me your state/zip (US) or postal code (CAN) or country if not US/CAN] and then add on a couple bucks per oscillator if anyone needs any. I'm not going to bother listing these on eBay if anyone needs/wants them here. (Maybe after christmas I might, dunno though)

These can't be shipped by lettermail, they're too thick and the pins would probably get crushed. I'll shove them in a/s foam (tape that to some cardboard) and ship them in a bubble mailer.

Here is what I have for crystal oscillators (I assume they all work, and no I'm not going to go test them or install them on any of the boards I have listed on eBay):

(As most of you know, Amiga's run at 1/2 the speed of the oscillator) The two bolded ones are what 1200's use...

2 - 66.66MHz new
1 - 44.900MHz new
5 - 28.63636MHz (NTSC) new
2 - 28.37516MHz (PAL) pulls
1 - 25.000MHz new
3 - 25MHz (think these are for PC's) new
1 - 12.5000MHz new
1 - 3.686400MHz new

What do you do with these exactly? Is it for musick or what?

They're the little crystal oscillator that is soldered to your Amiga motherboard. They control the speed (MHz) of your hardware.

If somebody was looking for DOC70-28.63636MZ KDS AMERICA/A DAISHI oscillators in quantity, I see that pcipci.com (http://www.pcipci.com/search_products.cfm?search_manufacturerID=133) has 886 in stock today... Amazing how easy it is to find these things today compared to a year or so ago. :admonish:
