I was looking on ebay and found this!
You don't see many of these around!!

I always thought it would be cool to put my A500 in one of those Micronik towers....then my wife pointed out the impractibility of it.

Seems a cool idea.
I know Micronik done some excellant towers for the A2000, A3000,A4000.
But they never really got the A1200 towers right, their infinitive range for the A1200 was a bad design, soft plastic and really unstable.
I wonder if anyone considered making a design for the CD32? i.e a cool laptop!

When compared to my A3k...yeah. 8-) She puts up with my radio and electronics stuff but she's not too keen on my computers. Especially since I've been unemployed since December. 8-(

I seem to remember that those had an A2k CPU slot on there too. So in theory you could put a TekMAigc (or similar) 2060 and a PicassoIV (or similar) in there and have a bit of a kickass A500 :-)
Oh, how I longed for one to use with my A500Plus...

When I got laid off, I was working in testing of electronic assemblies. I've done in-circuit with various ICT systems and functional testing with a VXI. My official title was Test Engineer Assistant so I got to do more than just test boards. My limited knowledge of the insides of a Fairchild Factron might come in handy some day. I wish I had had more time to learn the various OSs I used there.
That job was both a blessing and a curse. There aren't any jobs like that around here now that will hire a student for part time (one of the reasons I suspect I was laid off). So, I've been looking at other markets. I've had 15 interviews and no job offers becuase they freak out when they find out what I was making at my last job. However, it looks great on my resume.

Well the acceleratorcards for the A500 could be used in the A2000 too.
It´s basicly the same motherboards but with different expansion connectors so an A500 can be turned into an A2000 quite easily.

Yes, I'm a victim of the Infinitv tower. It's really awful. It's not the weakness of the plastic that's annoying (it's actually easy to pop open and examine drives, etc), it's the fact that nothing fits in it!
CD drive faceplates are too big to fit, so the drives can't be mounted properly, there's not enough clearance between the drivebays and the power supply, and the lower quarter of Zorro boards is obscured by a backplate that's too small. I've had to carve chunks of plastic out to fit my Picasso II.
Its only redeeming feature is the fact that it is a genuine Amiga Tower, with Amiga logos right on the casing, so there's no need for de-PC-ification.
End rant. My apologies.
I feel better knowing that Micronik did make quality equipment at one point. :-D

Same tower as my first A1200 tower, RAmiga Z5.
Shame the door has broken off it.
Had a niced smoked effect.
Mine did break several times and I had glue it back together.

It's an impressive piece of tinkering, but why the hell would one want to put an A500 in a tower? I've opened up my miggy a few times and decided everything is where it should be already.

Thats easy - Graphics Card, FlickerFixer, Sound Card, 060 Accelerator, RAM, Hard Drives, CD/RW Drives :-)

The coolest thing about having an A500 is surely the nostalgia factor. Where's that when it's not even in its original case? :-P

Hey, I have one for nostalgia. Didn't stop me putting a harddrive on it so I could at least play SOME games without having to wait half an hour on a slow floppy...
Of course, my other reason for having it is building odd devices for it, of which the IDE interface was just #1 on the priority list. Now I have an almost-working A1200 lying around which I can use for hacking, as I've got a brand new motherboard for the Elboxed 1200 :-)

Earlier today I was looking for a way to turn a PSX into a CD ROM for the Amiga an came across this massive list of hacks on Aminet, not that I usually do that sort of thing. Didn't seem to have the one I was looking for but I was a mightily impressed with the list of hacks I found. Everything from putting an A1200 into a tower to turning your Amiga into a self-gratification machine. ;-) :-P
Your probably on it, am I right? :-D

I bought this new 1200 from a guy in canada. I collect amiga to keep in original shape (except the battery). In the proccess I have been experimenting with emulation. Considering how fast todays PC is, this is not difficult compared to finding spare parts for Amiga. Nevertheless, I have become more interested in towering though I would much rather get myself a A4000 or 4000T. Prices are a hinderence.
As far as a 500T, I have A500 that works and another that doesn't. When I get a new mobo, I will probably tower the one with the "yellowest" case. But it can still be a pricy situation.
On a side note, I have another URL from that guy. He found a nice 20" monitor that will do 15KHz.
